Priory Barn & Cottages is an exclusive-use countryside event venue situated at Wighill Park near Wetherby in North Yorkshire, conveniently positioned between Leeds, York and Harrogate. The property is set within a private rural estate and combines a characterful converted Yorkshire barn, an attached flexible marquee, landscaped grounds and seven individually styled self-catering cottages surrounding a peaceful courtyard. The venue is particularly well suited to weddings and private celebrations, with the ability to accommodate both intimate gatherings and larger events. The Barn can accommodate up to 60 guests for dinner or 80 for a drinks reception, while the larger marquee can accommodate up to 150 guests for dinner and 200 for a drinks reception. For weddings, ceremonies can take place upstairs in the converted barn or outdoors, subject to weather. The venue provides tables and chairs, a surround-sound system and ceremony rehearsal. Following the ceremony, guests can use the private courtyard for drinks and photographs before moving into the marquee for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. Priory Barn & Cottages also has a strong corporate-events offering, including meetings, boardrooms, presentations, retreats, team-building activities and company celebrations. The restored Barn is the principal character space, featuring high ceilings, exposed Yorkshire stone walls, original wooden beams and modern styling. It can be configured for weddings, private dinners, drinks receptions and corporate events. For corporate use, the venue lists boardroom seating for up to 20, presentation layouts for up to 30 and dinner layouts for up to 65.
Directly attached to the barn, the contemporary marquee functions as a flexible and customizable blank canvas for grand wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. It features a large dance floor, staging for entertainment, and personalized lighting, comfortably accommodating up to 150 seated guests or 200 evening reception attendees.
The private courtyard sits at the centre of the cottages and is used for drinks receptions, photographs and informal socialising. It provides an outdoor transition between the ceremony and reception areas and is particularly useful for wedding photography and guest refreshments.
