Sheffield Cathedral is one of Sheffield's most significant heritage buildings and one of the city's most distinctive event venues. Located on Church Street in the heart of the city centre, the Grade I listed Cathedral has a history extending more than 1,000 years, although the present building incorporates architectural elements from different periods. It became Sheffield Cathedral in 1914 when the Diocese of Sheffield was created.
Beyond its continuing religious function, the Cathedral operates as a versatile cultural, hospitality and events venue. Its facilities can accommodate corporate meetings, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances, dinners, receptions, awards ceremonies and celebrations. The Cathedral specifically promotes the Nave for large dinners and events, with capacity for up to 300 guests for dining.
Our venue also contains a collection of smaller conference and meeting rooms, including the 1554 Gallery, Domino Hall, Chapter House, Conrad Hilton Room, Sheffield Town Trust Room, Barclays Brighter Futures Room and Project Room. Published capacities range from approximately 30 people in the smaller meeting rooms to 150 in Domino Hall. These spaces are equipped for business use, with Wi-Fi, presentation equipment and supporting facilities.
Its combination of historic architecture, stained glass, flexible event spaces, central location and in-house catering makes Sheffield Cathedral particularly suitable for organisers seeking a prestigious and unusual venue.
