Paraa Safari Lodge is a luxury safari lodge located within Murchison Falls National Park in north-western Uganda, overlooking the Victoria Nile. Established in 1954, the lodge combines classic safari-style architecture and décor with modern accommodation, dining, leisure and conferencing facilities. Its elevated position provides panoramic views of the Nile and the surrounding national park, creating a distinctive setting for both business and social events.
The property has 53 rooms, one signature cottage and three safari tents, with accommodation options ranging from classic and deluxe rooms to family rooms, suites and the Queen's Cottage. The lodge also features a swimming pool with a pool bar, restaurants, bars, landscaped outdoor areas, a business centre, gift shop, spa and fitness facilities.
For events, Paraa Safari Lodge provides a dedicated conference room for meetings, conferences and corporate gatherings, while its landscaped grounds, poolside terrace and Nile-facing dining areas provide additional settings for weddings, private celebrations, receptions, cocktails and other social functions. The lodge's event offering is particularly suited to groups looking for a combination of business activities, outdoor relaxation and safari experiences.
Its dining facilities include the Captain's Table Restaurant, the Nile Terrace Restaurant, the Poolside Bar & Terrace, and outdoor/bush dining experiences along the Nile. The Captain's Table is located on the upper floor and offers both indoor dining and an outdoor balcony with views over the River Nile.

Paraa Safari Lodge has a dedicated conference room designed for corporate meetings, conferences, workshops and other business gatherings. The lodge provides meeting facilities and can arrange meeting-room setups according to the size and requirements of the group. Audiovisual support and meeting packages are available, with the lodge recommending that events be arranged in advance.
Poolside Lounge
UGX 0
The lodge has a swimming pool overlooking the River Nile, accompanied by a pool bar and poolside terrace. This area can work well for informal gatherings, cocktails, receptions, private dinners and social functions, particularly because of its views of the Nile. Historical property material also documents a wedding reception held near the swimming pool for approximately 100 guests, demonstrating that the poolside area has been used for sizeable social events.
Captain's Table Restaurant

The Captain's Table is the lodge's main restaurant, located on the upper floor. It serves local and international cuisine and has both an indoor dining area and an outdoor balcony overlooking the River Nile. The balcony can provide a scenic setting for private dining, group meals, receptions and other social gatherings. The property has also historically hosted special barbecues and entertainment around its dining areas.
Nile Terrace Restaurant

The Nile Terrace Restaurant is listed among Paraa Safari Lodge's culinary facilities and provides an additional outdoor dining setting associated with the lodge's Nile-facing environment. It can be considered for relaxed group dining, private functions and social gatherings where an outdoor atmosphere is preferred
Lodge Gardens & Outdoor Lawns
UGX 0
The lodge's landscaped gardens and open lawns provide flexible outdoor areas for social functions, wedding ceremonies, receptions and other gatherings. Their location within Murchison Falls National Park and views toward the Nile give these spaces a strong safari and nature-oriented atmosphere. A documented wedding at the property had approximately 100 guests, with the ceremony taking place on the lawns near the pool and the reception arranged around the pool area
Bush Dining / Nile-Side Outdoor Dining
UGX 0
Paraa Safari Lodge also offers bush dining along the shores of the Nile, providing a more exclusive outdoor experience surrounded by the natural landscape. This is better described as a special outdoor dining/event setting rather than a permanent event hall. It would be suitable for private dinners, intimate celebrations, group meals and special safari experiences.
Explorer's Bar
UGX 0
The Explorer's Bar is located on the upper floor next to the restaurant. It provides a relaxed lounge environment with sofas and is suitable for informal gatherings, drinks, networking or pre-/post-event socializing. I would classify this as a secondary social event space, rather than one of the lodge's primary event venues.
