Roundhay Park is a major public park and outdoor events destination in north-east Leeds, covering more than 700 acres of rolling parkland. We are managed by Leeds City Council and combine extensive open grassland, woodland, two lakes, formal and specialist gardens, sports facilities, cafés, playgrounds and the Tropical World visitor attraction. Our scale and variety make us substantially different from conventional indoor conference and event venues.
We have a long history of hosting significant public events. Leeds City Council specifically identifies outdoor concerts and triathlons among the events held at Roundhay, while the council's licensing policy recognises us as a location for community gatherings, fairs, carnivals and occasional major events.
Our landscape provides several potential event environments, including large open fields, lakeside areas, gardens and areas around The Mansion. We also have four principal car-parking areas, accessible routes and facilities including cafés and toilets.
We are particularly appropriate for large outdoor concerts, festivals, sporting events, charity runs, community celebrations, cultural events, fairs, markets and experiential events. Major-event use is subject to council approval, event planning, licensing and site-specific safety arrangements. In 2026, we hosted the inaugural Roundhay Festival, demonstrating our ability to support very large-scale outdoor music programming.
