Surrounded by approximately 17 acres of private gardens, woodland, a lake and an island, we provide a peaceful country-house setting in Hackness, near Scarborough, within the North York Moors National Park. Hackness Grange combines the character of a 19th-century Grade II Georgian manor with the privacy and natural beauty of an established countryside estate. Our event offering is particularly well suited to weddings and exclusive-use celebrations. We provide three ceremony settings, including two indoor suites and an outdoor option. The Elizabeth Suite accommodates up to 120 guests and can be transformed from the ceremony setting into a space for the wedding breakfast and evening celebration. For more intimate occasions, our Derwent Suite accommodates up to 60 guests. We also welcome private dining, conferences, corporate events, birthday parties, baby showers, funerals, wakes and filming. Our events team works with organisers to develop suitable arrangements and customised menus for their occasion. With 27 bedrooms, including a dedicated honeymoon suite, we can also accommodate guests staying overnight, making Hackness Grange particularly suitable for residential weddings, exclusive celebrations and private gatherings. Whether you are planning a wedding surrounded by countryside, a corporate event, private dinner or family celebration, we offer an atmosphere of privacy and character that is difficult to achieve in a conventional hotel or conference centre. Our combination of historic architecture, landscaped grounds, accommodation and flexible event spaces creates a memorable setting near the Yorkshire coast.
The Pavilion is a rustic, fairytale outdoor ceremony space situated on its own private island. Accessed by crossing a romantic bridge over the glistening lake, the covered wooden structure shields up to 80 seated guests from unpredictable weather while providing gorgeous natural lighting and panoramic woodland views.
The Elizabeth Suite is a grand, bright, and airy indoor space serving as the main hub for larger weddings. Accommodating up to 120 daytime guests for ceremonies or wedding breakfasts, it features massive windows overlooking the estate and easily transforms to host up to 170 evening reception guests.
The Derwent Suite offers an intimate, traditionally styled indoor setting for cozy celebrations. Seamlessly blending period charm with refined elegance, this beautifully detailed space is ideally suited for smaller gatherings of up to 50 guests, ensuring an exceptionally warm and personal atmosphere for exchanging your vows.
