Bradford Industrial Museum occupies the former Moorside Mills in Eccleshill, Bradford, a historic industrial complex originally developed around 1875 as a worsted spinning mill. Bradford Council acquired the site in the early 1970s and opened the museum in 1974. Today, the museum preserves Bradford's industrial heritage through displays of textile machinery, steam power, engineering, printing, weaving and motor vehicles. Working machinery demonstrations and demonstrations by volunteers add an interactive dimension to the visitor experience.
For events and private hire, the most clearly documented facility is the Heritage Craft Room, situated in a separate building on the museum site. It is specifically available for commercial and community hire and can accommodate at least 30 people, with seating configurable in classroom, conference, theatre or mixed arrangements. It includes a projector, pull-down screen, Wi-Fi, tables, craft equipment, sinks and a kitchenette.
The wider museum site contains several historically significant buildings, including the Mill Manager's House, Back-to-Back Terraced Houses, Horse Emporium, Stables, Carriage Shed and Blacksmith Forge. These provide highly distinctive heritage environments, although the museum does not currently publish individual event capacities for them.
The venue is particularly appropriate for heritage events, workshops, educational programmes, craft activities, meetings, community events, exhibitions and experiential corporate activities rather than conventional large-scale conferences.
