Ince Public Hall Community Hub

Ince Community Centre, historically operating as the grand Ince District Council Offices and Public Hall, stands as an exceptional heritage civic complex, local library, and multi-functional community hub situated on Manchester Road in Ince-in-Makerfield, Wigan. Originally constructed in the late nineteenth century to serve as the administrative heart of the Ince district, this monumental brick property beautifully preserves its landmark architecture—featuring open timber principals and a 25-foot decorative plaster ceiling inside its historic public hall. Today, the unique facility seamlessly integrates vital local services under one roof, housing a busy GP surgery, a pre-school nursery, an informative Life Centre hub, a cozy community café, and a choice of versatile meeting rooms available for private hire. Strategically positioned along the main Manchester Road commercial corridor between central Wigan and Hindley, the location delivers exceptional main-road transit connectivity alongside an enclosed rear public parking facility and comprehensive disability wheelchair access across its ground floors. Backed by the Douglas Valley Community network and dedicated local organizations, the venue specializes in hosting vocational training workshops, physical martial arts classes, business meetings, and casual neighborhood networking mixers. It provides a highly flexible, unpretentious environment equipped with built-in presentation media to ensure seamless logistical execution for all local enterprises and social planners.
