Howard Assembly Room

At the heart of Leeds city centre, our heritage venue combines distinctive architecture with modern facilities and a flexible approach to event hire. Our flagship Howard Assembly Room auditorium can accommodate up to 330 seated or 450 standing guests, making it suitable for everything from conferences and dinners to performances, exhibitions and parties. We also provide a connecting atrium and bar, purpose-built studios and the Bramall Education Suite for smaller workshops, classes and educational activities. Our spaces can be adapted to different event formats, and our team works with organisers to understand their requirements and create a suitable arrangement. Accessibility is an important part of our venue, with lifts, wheelchair spaces and hearing loops available. Our HAR bar and Yuzu street food offer convenient options for refreshments and informal gatherings. By hiring our spaces, organisers also support Opera North's wider charitable work, helping us continue creating musical and cultural experiences in Leeds and beyond.
