Abbotsford

Set beside the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders, Abbotsford provides a historic setting for weddings, private celebrations, family gatherings and special events. Our house was the home of Sir Walter Scott and is surrounded by formal Regency gardens, woodland and riverside walks. For intimate weddings, our Hope Scott Wing provides exclusive accommodation for up to 16 guests, while our Wedding Suite, Catholic Chapel and Icehouse Terrace offer different ceremony settings. Wedding breakfasts can be arranged in the Hope Scott Wing Dining Room, Sir Walter Scott's historic Dining Room, the Hope Scott Wing public rooms or Ochiltree's for larger groups. Our grounds provide beautiful settings for photographs and drinks receptions, with options including the North Terrace, private courtyard and gardens. We also offer event and meeting spaces through Ochiltree's Café and within the historic house, making Abbotsford suitable for a range of private and business gatherings.
