Assembly House

Set within a Victorian mill beside the Leeds-Liverpool Canal in Armley, Leeds, Assembly House provides a creative environment centred on artists, community projects and contemporary arts. Our artist-led organisation has supported affordable studio spaces, emerging creatives and public-facing cultural activity since 2013. We bring together a diverse community of professional practitioners working across painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, sound, performance, illustration and design. Our project space provides a platform for exhibitions and can also be hired for events, while our wider programme includes workshops, exhibitions, community activities and creative projects. We provide artists with technical and producing support, alongside opportunities for exhibitions, professional development and collaboration. Our building includes studio facilities, workshop resources, Wi-Fi, kitchen access and on-site parking. We welcome visitors by appointment and open the building to the public during selected exhibitions, workshops and events. Our focus on creativity, community and artist development makes Assembly House a distinctive cultural space in Leeds.
