Carriageworks Theatre

@mv802v

Carriageworks Theatre is a centrally located performing-arts and events venue situated within The Electric Press on Millennium Square in the heart of Leeds. The venue combines the character of a Victorian industrial building with contemporary theatre, conference and event facilities. The building originated as a carriage-manufacturing facility in the nineteenth century and was subsequently redeveloped, with the Carriageworks Theatre opening as part of the wider Electric Press development in 2005. The venue contains two principal performance spaces—the 349-seat Main Auditorium and the flexible Studio, which has a maximum capacity of 77—as well as a suite of meeting and event rooms. This combination allows Carriageworks to accommodate both relatively small meetings and workshops and larger conferences, presentations, performances and community events. The Main Auditorium is a proscenium-arch theatre equipped with theatre lighting, public-address equipment, data projection, a cinema-sized screen, technical support and an infrared induction loop. The Studio is configured as a flexible black-box space suitable for intimate performances, rehearsals, new writing, puppetry and creative development. Beyond performances, the venue markets its spaces for conferences, business meetings, training, workshops, rehearsals, ceremonies, community events and larger-scale functions. Its central Leeds location and public-transport connections make it particularly suitable for organisations seeking a city-centre venue.

The Millennium Room

The Millennium Room

£0.00

The Millennium Room provides a smaller, more intimate meeting environment while retaining the historic character associated with the Electric Press building. It is particularly suitable for smaller meetings, breakout sessions, workshops, training activities and discussions where a quieter and more contained setting is required. The venue describes it as a warm and professional space for smaller groups.

Meeting Room 1

Meeting Room 1

£0.00

Meeting Room 1 is the largest of the individually named meeting rooms. Located on the second floor, it has an airy, studio-like character and views over the Electric Press courtyard. Its larger capacity makes it particularly useful for corporate meetings, conferences, workshops, training programmes and presentations requiring more space than the smaller meeting rooms.

Meeting Room 2

Meeting Room 2

£0.00

Meeting Room 2 combines modern meeting functionality with original Victorian architectural features, including exposed brickwork and roof beams. The bright and open environment gives the room a distinctive character compared with conventional corporate meeting facilities. It is appropriate for meetings, workshops, training, presentations and smaller conferences.

Meeting Room 3

Meeting Room 3

£0.00

Meeting Room 3 is one of the venue's smaller meeting spaces and shares the historic character found elsewhere within the Electric Press building. Its more intimate scale makes it suitable for small meetings, breakout sessions, training activities and focused workshops. It is particularly useful when an event requires several smaller rooms alongside a larger conference or auditorium booking.

Meeting Room 4

Meeting Room 4

£0.00

Meeting Room 4 is a mid-sized meeting and workshop room with a style similar to Rooms 2 and 3. It combines heritage architectural elements with a practical event layout. Its capacity of up to 35 delegates makes it suitable for smaller conferences, creative sessions, team meetings, training, workshops and breakout activities associated with larger events held elsewhere in the venue.

Meeting Rooms 5 and 6

Meeting Rooms 5 and 6

£0.00

Meeting Rooms 5 and 6 are located together on the third floor. Room 5 provides views across Millennium Square and connects directly with the smaller Room 6.
