Whirlow Brook Hall is a distinctive historic event venue situated within 39 acres of landscaped grounds at Whirlow Brook Park, approximately four miles from Sheffield city centre. Originally built as a manor house in 1906, the Hall retains period features including ornate fireplaces and original woodwork while providing modern facilities for conferences, weddings, private functions and corporate events. Its elevated position provides views across the surrounding gardens and parkland, creating a particularly attractive setting for events and photography. Our venue operates on an exclusive-use basis, meaning clients can have access to the entire venue for their event. Facilities include a large Garden Suite, smaller Garden Rooms, the period Oak Room and additional meeting/breakout facilities. The Garden Suite is the principal event space and can accommodate up to 120 people in theatre or dinner configurations and up to 180 for receptions according to the venue's current published information. Whirlow Brook Hall is suitable for conferences, away days, product launches, networking events, gala dinners, charity functions, weddings, birthday celebrations and other private events. Its 39 acres also provide considerable outdoor-event potential, including team-building activities, summer barbecues and outdoor receptions. The venue has complimentary on-site parking and Wi-Fi and works with external event partners for team-building activities.
The Garden Suite is Whirlow Brook Hall's principal large event room, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds and direct access to the elevated terrace. Its generous proportions make it suitable for conferences, weddings, gala dinners, product launches, networking events and receptions. The neutral interior also allows substantial event customisation.
Garden Room One is a flexible mid-sized meeting and function room overlooking Whirlow Brook Hall's landscaped grounds. It accommodates up to 70 theatre-style and 50 for dinner, making it appropriate for conferences, training, presentations, workshops, smaller receptions and breakout activities. It benefits from natural daylight and modern conference equipment.
Garden Room Two is a smaller flexible event space suited to meetings, training sessions, workshops, presentations and intimate functions. It accommodates up to 50 theatre-style and 40 for dinner. The room can be used independently or as part of the larger Garden Suite arrangement when the suite is divided into smaller spaces.
The Oak Room is a characterful ground-floor room retaining features from the original manor house, including traditional woodwork. It provides an atmospheric setting for meetings, private dining, ceremonies and smaller receptions. It also has its own private bar, making it particularly suitable for intimate celebrations and drinks receptions.
The Cedar Room is an intimate first-floor meeting space with views across the Hall's gardens. Its smaller capacity makes it particularly suitable for board meetings, interviews, workshops and breakout sessions. It provides natural daylight and standard conference facilities while offering a quieter setting away from the larger event spaces.
Willow Room is a historically documented Whirlow Brook Hall event room and was listed by Sheffield City Council as an approved ceremony room with capacity for 35.
