QUAD provides a creative and flexible setting in the heart of Derby for conferences, meetings, presentations, product launches, private screenings, workshops and other events. Our building combines cinema, contemporary art, digital media and creative spaces, giving organisers a choice of professional and informal environments under one roof. We offer four main cinema and event spaces alongside three studios and additional flexible areas including our Participation Studio, Gallery & Bar and Lounge. Our facilities include professional projection, PA systems, presentation equipment, theatre lighting, in-house technical support and event management. We also provide catering and hospitality options, with tea and coffee service, drinks receptions, popcorn and sweets packages and outside catering available on request. Our spaces range from smaller 15-person boardroom meetings to our 234-seat Sir John Hurt Cinema. We are fully accessible and located in Derby city centre, making us suitable for both business and creative events.
Our Sir John Hurt Cinema is our largest event space, accommodating up to 234 people in fixed theatre-style seating, including three wheelchair spaces. We provide a screen and projector, PA system, lectern, static stage, theatre lighting and media player.
Our Metro Cinema accommodates up to 116 people in fixed theatre-style seating and is wheelchair accessible. We provide a screen and projector, PA system, lectern, static stage, theatre lighting and media player for conferences, screenings and presentations.
Our Box provides a flexible event setting for up to 60 people in theatre style or 40 with tables. We can host conferences, launches, networking, workshops and private screenings, with presentation and sound equipment included.
Our Studio 1 is a bright, open space accommodating up to 60 people. We use it for arts workshops, rehearsals, community activities and larger meetings, with a projector, screen and speakers available.
Our Studio 2 provides an intimate boardroom-style setting for up to 15 people. We use the space for corporate meetings, training and interviews, with a projector, screen and speakers available.
Our Studio 3 accommodates up to 30 people standing or in theatre style, with capacity for 25 in cabaret and 24 in classroom layout. We provide a projector, screen and speakers for workshops, networking and presentations.
