Salts Mill

@ns4ri2

Salts Mill is a remarkable nineteenth-century former textile mill situated in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Saltaire, approximately four miles north of Bradford. Built by Sir Titus Salt and opened in 1853, the enormous industrial building has subsequently been transformed into a mixed arts, cultural, commercial and visitor destination. Today it is particularly recognised for its extensive collection of works by Bradford-born artist David Hockney, housed alongside other exhibitions, independent shops, restaurants and cafés. The Mill also accommodates more than 1,000 people working for businesses based within the building. Rather than operating as a conventional conference or hotel venue with a published schedule of meeting-room capacities, Salts Mill's event potential is centred around its galleries, exhibition areas, cultural facilities, dining spaces and special-event programming. The venue regularly hosts exhibitions and special cultural events and accepts group bookings. Its historic industrial architecture and art collections make it particularly suitable for cultural receptions, exhibitions, private visits, creative events and heritage-related functions. Free visitor parking, proximity to Saltaire railway station, level access to public areas and lift access further improve its suitability for organised visits and events.
