Sheffield City Hall is a landmark Grade II listed events and entertainment venue located at Barkers Pool in the heart of Sheffield city centre. Opened in 1932, the Art Deco building combines historic architecture with modern event infrastructure and is now operated by Legends Global. The venue hosts more than 750 events annually, spanning concerts, conferences, exhibitions, banquets, seminars, meetings, community events and corporate hospitality. The venue provides several distinct event environments, led by the 2,271-capacity Oval Hall, the 850-standing Ballroom and the 430-theatre Memorial Hall. The Oval Hall is Sheffield City Hall's largest auditorium and principal performance/conference space. Tiered across stalls, circle and balcony levels, it provides a dramatic setting for major conferences, presentations, graduations, concerts and large-scale events. Its auditorium format makes it particularly suited to audiences requiring high-capacity theatre-style seating and professional staging.
The Memorial Hall is an intimate, characterful two-level theatre and conference space. Its half-moon auditorium makes it particularly suitable for conferences, AGMs, networking, panel discussions, press conferences, corporate hospitality, filming and social functions. It can also operate as an entertainment venue for smaller concerts, comedy performances and presentations.
The Ballroom is Sheffield City Hall's principal flexible event and banqueting space. Its Art Deco architecture, decorative ceiling, columns and large open floor create a distinctive setting for conferences, exhibitions, dinners, awards ceremonies, weddings, parties and corporate events. The room can be configured for theatre, cabaret, banquet or standing reception formats.
The North Hall is one of two adjacent flexible halls supporting the main City Hall event spaces. It is suitable for conferences, dinners, meetings and breakout activity. Its smaller scale makes it particularly useful for networking, catering, workshops and supporting larger events taking place in the Ballroom or other principal halls.
The South Hall is the companion space to the North Hall and provides an adaptable environment for conferences, dinners, meetings and breakout activity. It is particularly valuable as a supporting room for larger events, allowing organisers to separate delegates into workshops, catering areas, networking zones or smaller meeting sessions.
The Barbirolli Suite is a compact meeting and hospitality space within Sheffield City Hall. It can be configured for meetings, breakout sessions, smaller presentations and green-room use. Its relatively intimate capacity makes it complementary to the venue's larger halls and suitable for delegates requiring a quieter or more private environment.
