The Met Hotel Leeds is an independent city-centre hotel and event venue located on King Street, close to Leeds railway station and the city's principal shopping, business and entertainment districts. The hotel occupies a grand Victorian building dating from the late nineteenth century and retains significant architectural character, including its Grade II-listed historic structure. The building originally opened as the Hotel Metropole in 1899 and has recently undergone a major redesign, combining Victorian character with contemporary interiors. For events, The Met provides nine dedicated meeting and event spaces, ranging from compact boardrooms for around 10–14 people to the 240 m² Met Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 250 delegates theatre-style. The ballroom can also host up to 200 for banqueting and 180 in cabaret configuration. The venue is suitable for conferences, meetings, seminars, training sessions, corporate events, product launches, private dining, weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. Its events team offers flexible room layouts, catering and technical support, while the hotel's 125 bedrooms make it suitable for residential conferences and multi-day events.
