Scarborough Bowls Centre

Scarborough Bowls Centre gives us a distinctive setting where sport, recreation and private events come together beside Scarborough's North Bay. Formerly known as the Alexandra Bowls Centre, our facility opened in 1989 and has grown into an established bowling and recreational destination close to Peasholm Park and the attractions of the North Bay. Our main sporting facilities include eight indoor bowling rinks, supported by a laser-levelled green and glare-free lighting following major refurbishment. We also have two outdoor crown greens within the adjacent Alexandra Gardens, providing additional space for bowls and recreational activities. For events beyond bowling, our Alexandra Room overlooks the outdoor greens and provides a relaxed setting for a variety of gatherings. We host wedding receptions, funeral teas, christening parties, children's parties, social functions and meetings for clubs, organisations and community groups. We also provide full disabled access across our facilities and can support visitors with bowls, bowling shoes and coaching or taster sessions. Located close to Scarborough's North Bay attractions, we offer an alternative to traditional function venues for groups looking for a relaxed, community-focused setting. Whether you are organising a family celebration, social gathering, club meeting or private function, Scarborough Bowls Centre combines practical event space with the character of an established sporting venue.
