Ponds Forge International Sports Centre is a major multi-purpose sports and events facility in the heart of Sheffield. Originally opened for the 1991 World Student Games, we have developed into a large sports, leisure, and event complex serving both our local community and major competitions. Our centre covers 6.7 acres and proudly attracts over 1.3 million visits annually. Our premier event offering is centred around our International Hall, the largest and most flexible events space in Sheffield. We can accommodate up to 1,700 seated or 2,000 standing guests, making it perfect for major tournaments, exhibitions, and high-capacity events. For smaller functions, we provide the Skyline Suite for up to 200 people, three intimate meeting rooms, and a café/VIP bar for catering. Beyond events, our elite infrastructure includes an Olympic-size 50m competition pool, diving pit, leisure pool, 10-court sports hall, gym, and spa, making us the ultimate destination for sports.
The International Sports Hall is an expansive, ten-court indoor arena engineered for multi-sport versatility. It comfortably accommodates up to 2,000 guests for major exhibitions, martial arts tournaments, and trade shows. Retractable bleacher seating and clear sightlines make it perfect for televised basketball, netball, and badminton championships.
The Olympic Competition Pool is a world-renowned, 50-metre aquatics arena featuring ten racing lanes and seating for up to 2,500 spectators. It frequently hosts high-profile national and international gala swimming championships. A flexible, moving floor can split the vast water area into two separate, short-course training zones.
As Europe's deepest indoor diving pool, the International Diving Pit features an array of springboards and high-diving platforms up to 10 metres high. This dedicated aquatic stadium features specialist bubble machines for safety and hosts elite training events alongside world-class diving competitions, serving as the official home base for the GB Diving Squad.
The Skyline Suite is a flexible corporate venue that accommodates up to 200 guests for conferences, private dinners, and banquets. It comes equipped with a dedicated VIP bar and links directly to a scenic rooftop terrace. The room easily divides into smaller configurations using moveable wooden partitions to suit bespoke event needs.
Meeting Room 1 is one of three similarly sized dedicated meeting rooms at Ponds Forge. The room measures approximately 4m × 10m according to Sheffield City Council's current facility specification. It is suited to smaller meetings, training sessions, presentations and breakout activities connected with larger events in the centre.
Meeting Room 2 is the largest of Ponds Forge's three similarly configured meeting rooms, measuring approximately 5m × 10m. It is suitable for meetings, workshops, training, presentations and breakout sessions. Its capacity is slightly higher than Meeting Rooms 1 and 3, with up to 50 delegates theatre-style.
Meeting Room 3 is the third dedicated meeting room and is approximately 4m × 10m, making it effectively the same size as Meeting Room 1. It provides a compact setting for meetings, workshops, training and smaller presentations and can also function as a breakout room for larger events.
