Yorkshire Dance is a distinctive creative and performing-arts venue located in Leeds' Cultural Quarter at St Peter's Square. Based in a former textile-mill building, the organisation combines dance development, performance, artist support and community activity with a versatile venue-hire operation. Its exposed brickwork, original wooden beams, high ceilings and creative atmosphere make it particularly different from conventional conference hotels. Our venue offers three purpose-built dance studios alongside meeting and event spaces. Studio 1 provides 165 square metres of flexible space and seating for up to 70 people, while Studio 2 is an 88-square-metre studio with seating for up to 50. Studio 3 is the largest, at 192 square metres, and features retractable raked seating for up to 80 people, making it suitable for seminars, lectures, conferences and performances. Yorkshire Dance also offers North Space, which can accommodate up to 60 people and is equipped with Wi-Fi, a projector and flip charts. Smaller meeting spaces are available for groups of up to 10 people.
Studio 3 is Yorkshire Dance's largest studio, covering 192 square metres. Its retractable raked seating accommodates up to 80 people, while blackout capability, lighting and sound equipment support presentations and performances. It is particularly suitable for conferences, seminars, lectures, dance performances, theatre, spoken-word events and creative workshops.
Studio 2 is Yorkshire Dance's smallest principal studio, providing 88 square metres of bright, flexible space. It has good acoustics, a sound system and air conditioning. The studio is well suited to smaller workshops, dance and fitness classes, rehearsals, creative sessions and meetings, with seating for up to 50.
Studio 1 is a spacious, naturally lit creative studio featuring a sprung maple-wood dance floor, original wooden beams, good acoustics, sound equipment and air conditioning. Its flexible layout makes it suitable for dance, workshops, rehearsals, fitness sessions, creative activities and meetings, with seating available for up to 70 people.
North Space is Yorkshire Dance's dedicated meeting and event room, combining exposed brickwork, natural light and high ceilings. It can accommodate up to 60 people and is equipped with Wi-Fi, a projector and flip charts. The space is suitable for meetings, conferences, film screenings, presentations and performances.
Yorkshire Dance provides smaller meeting spaces for groups of up to 10 people. These rooms are intended for intimate meetings, planning sessions, discussions and small professional gatherings. They provide an alternative to the larger studios and North Space when a private, compact meeting environment is more appropriate.
