The Alhambra Theatre

The Alhambra Theatre takes centre stage as a landmark Edwardian theatre in central Bradford and one of Yorkshire's major receiving venues for touring theatre and live entertainment. Officially opened on 18 March 1914 through the vision of local impresario Francis Laidler, our meticulously refurbished building retains its distinctive historic character while remaining deeply rooted in Bradford's performing-arts heritage. We proudly stand as the North's premier receiving venue, consistently attracting major touring productions, world-class performers, and international dance companies. Our diverse programme encompasses hit musicals, gripping drama, comedy, and Yorkshire's major annual pantomime. Over the years, we have played host to legendary West End productions and touring shows including The Lion King, War Horse, Billy Elliot, Wicked, and Mary Poppins. Our magnificent principal auditorium seats approximately 1,400 people, providing a vastly superior capacity compared to conventional conference hotels. This makes our space uniquely suited for large-scale performances, high-profile presentations, graduation ceremonies, public talks, and major productions. Arranged over four public levels, our venue incorporates an elegant main foyer, stalls, dress circle, upper circle, and multiple bar areas. We also offer premier hospitality at Restaurant 1914, located on the upper circle, where your guests can indulge in exceptional pre-theatre dining.
