University of Sheffield AMRC – Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC)

The University of Sheffield AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC) is a specialist conference and meeting facility located within the Advanced Manufacturing Park at Catcliffe, Rotherham. It forms part of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, a major research and innovation environment focused on advanced manufacturing, engineering and industrial technology. The KTC was developed to provide dedicated meeting and conference facilities supporting knowledge transfer between the University, industrial partners, researchers and manufacturing businesses. It has hosted technical conferences, research conferences, industry showcases, workshops, seminars and knowledge-exchange events. The facility is particularly suited to professional and technical events where delegates may also benefit from access to the wider AMRC's research, demonstration and manufacturing facilities. AMRC conference programmes have specifically used the KTC's Main Room and Room 2 simultaneously for separate conference sessions, demonstrating that these are distinct bookable/usable event spaces. The wider AMRC campus can also support exhibitions, demonstrations and technical tours, although these should not automatically be counted as conventional event rooms. The KTC is therefore best classified as a specialist corporate, academic and industrial conference centre rather than a conventional hotel or general-purpose wedding venue. Its location within the Advanced Manufacturing Park makes it particularly attractive for engineering, manufacturing, technology, research, innovation and industrial conferences.
