Sheffield Town Hall is a Grade I listed Victorian civic building situated on Pinstone Street in the centre of Sheffield. We opened in 1897 and have served as the democratic and civic heart of the city for more than 125 years. Our grand historic architecture, central location and range of adaptable rooms make us an established setting for conferences, meetings, weddings, civil ceremonies, receptions and civic occasions. We offer a mixture of large function rooms and smaller meeting spaces. Our principal event area is the combined Reception Suite, formed by Reception Rooms A and B, which can accommodate up to 250 theatre-style or reception guests. The individual Mirror and Mandela Rooms each accommodate up to 120, while the Council Chamber can accommodate up to 150 theatre-style delegates. Our smaller Committee Rooms, Conference Room and Ante Room provide additional options for meetings and breakout activity. We provide in-house catering, dining and buffet services, licensed bar facilities, AV and projection equipment, PA systems, staging, Wi-Fi, natural daylight and three-phase power. We are also licensed for civil ceremonies and provide dedicated wedding coordination support. Accessibility provisions include wheelchair access, accessible toilets and induction loops. We are particularly well suited to conferences, civic events, weddings, receptions, meetings and heritage-focused events where a historic central-city setting is important.
The Mirror Room, officially Reception Room A, is an elegant historic function room located alongside the Mandela Room. Its decorative interior, balcony and mirror create a distinctive setting for weddings, civil ceremonies, receptions, meetings and smaller conferences. It can be used independently or opened into Reception Room B to create the larger suite.
The Mandela Room, officially Reception Room B, is the companion to the Mirror Room and can operate independently or together with it. It provides a versatile historic environment for conferences, weddings, receptions, dinners and meetings, with projection, PA, staging, Wi-Fi and natural daylight. It also includes bar and cloakroom facilities.
The Council Chamber is one of Sheffield Town Hall's most distinctive rooms, combining a formal civic atmosphere with substantial conference capacity. The historic chamber is suitable for conferences, presentations, civic occasions, meetings and receptions. It provides natural daylight, projection, PA, staging and modern conference technology within its heritage setting.
The Ante Room is a compact supporting meeting and hospitality space within Sheffield Town Hall. It accommodates approximately 16 people and is suited to small meetings, private discussions, dining or event support. The room has projection, computer equipment, flipcharts, natural daylight, Wi-Fi and three-phase power.
The Silver Room is a sizeable flexible room within Sheffield Town Hall, capable of accommodating up to 150 delegates in theatre-style configuration. It is suitable for conferences, presentations and larger meetings. Its event specification includes projection, computer equipment, exhibition capability, staging, natural daylight, Wi-Fi and three-phase power.
The layout of Committee Rooms 1, 2, and 3 is optimized for professional corporate use, working committee debates, and break-out workshop tracks. Each room is uniformly styled with high-quality dark wood finishes, high ceilings, large windows for natural light, and modular, modular-style conference tables surrounded by ergonomic executive seating.
The Conference Room is a smaller professional meeting space intended primarily for board meetings, private meetings and smaller dining arrangements. It accommodates up to 40 people in boardroom or dinner configuration and includes built-in PA, projection, screen, natural daylight, Wi-Fi and three-phase power.
The A & B Reception Suite is Sheffield Town Hall's largest flexible reception configuration, created by opening the Mirror and Mandela Rooms together. The combined suite provides a substantial historic setting for conferences, weddings, receptions, dinners and exhibitions. It benefits from natural daylight, staging, projection, PA, Wi-Fi and three-phase power.
