We are St Chad’s College, a historic venue in the heart of Durham, situated on North Bailey directly in the shadow of the magnificent Durham Cathedral. Our Grade II-listed buildings, beautiful gardens and distinctive architectural features provide a memorable setting for weddings, conferences, meetings, private dining and other events. Our facilities include the elegant Moulsdale Hall, our stunning glass-covered Cassidy Quad, several specialist libraries and meeting rooms, and our beautiful Chapel. We can provide professional catering through our Head Chef and team, along with accommodation for guests attending residential conferences and celebrations. Our Cassidy Quad can host up to 140 guests, while the Moulsdale Hall provides dining for up to 120. For conferences, we can accommodate groups ranging from 15 to 100 delegates. We pride ourselves on providing a friendly, personal service and a versatile setting where historic surroundings, modern event facilities, excellent food and Durham’s unique atmosphere come together. We are particularly suited to weddings, academic and corporate conferences, receptions and intimate celebrations.
Our Moulsdale Hall is our elegant dining and reception space, offering views towards Durham Cathedral through large arched windows. We can accommodate up to 120 guests for dining, making it ideal for weddings and conference dinners.
Our beautiful glass-covered Cassidy Quad is a distinctive multifunctional event space with a well-stocked bar and access to our gardens. We can accommodate up to 140 guests, or up to 100 conference delegates.
Our Williams Library provides an atmospheric setting overlooking Durham Cathedral. We can accommodate up to 40 delegates in theatre style or 20 around a boardroom table, with AV and hybrid-meeting facilities.
Our Brewis Library is a smaller meeting and presentation space overlooking our gardens and Chapel. We accommodate up to 30 delegates in theatre style or 15 around a boardroom table, with AV facilities available.
Our Bettenson Library is an intimate meeting room overlooking Durham Cathedral. We can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people around a boardroom table or 15 delegates in theatre style.
Our Senior Common Room is an informal and comfortable setting overlooking our Chapel and gardens. We use it for small meetings, private dining for up to 20 guests and intimate drinks receptions.
Our Chapel provides a peaceful and distinctive setting within our gardens. We use this space for presentations, music rehearsals, choir and organ practice, services, recitals and selected cultural and community events.
