Chester-le-Street Cricket Club

Chester-le-Street Cricket Club is a long-established community cricket club based at Ropery Lane in Chester-le-Street, County Durham. Established in 1922, the club plays in the North East Premier League and operates from a dedicated cricket ground with clubhouse, pavilion and practice facilities. In addition to cricket, the clubhouse provides facilities for private and community functions. The club has a first-floor function room capable of accommodating up to 100 people, making it suitable for smaller celebrations, social gatherings, meetings and community events. The clubhouse also contains two main downstairs rooms, a bar and an outdoor area overlooking the cricket ground. The venue benefits from its location close to Chester-le-Street town centre and railway station, with the club's own directions stating that the ground is approximately five minutes' walk from Chester-le-Street station. It is also easily accessible from the A1(M), with Junction 63 providing a direct route into the town. Accessibility is an important feature of the venue. The club provides wheelchair-friendly toilet facilities, lift access to the first floor, accessible parking arrangements and the ability to arrange a hearing loop or British Sign Language support in advance.
