The Talbot is a historic country hotel situated on Yorkersgate in Malton, North Yorkshire, approximately 18 miles from York and close to the North York Moors and Castle Howard. The building dates from the 18th century and has a long association with Malton's coaching, racing and food heritage. Today it operates as a hotel, restaurant and events venue, providing accommodation, private dining, corporate meeting facilities and celebration spaces. Our venue is particularly appropriate for small and medium-sized corporate meetings, private dining, weddings, celebrations and networking events. Its current meeting facilities include the Fitzwilliam Room, York House and The Snug, with the largest published dedicated meeting capacity being 40 theatre-style. The Talbot Restaurant can accommodate events of up to 45 guests. The Fitzwilliam Room is an Edwardian-style drawing room used for private dining and meetings, while York House provides a dedicated setting for smaller corporate events and ceremonies. The Snug offers a more relaxed environment for networking and social gatherings. Our hotel has 26 bedrooms, free on-site parking, Wi-Fi, a restaurant and bar, private dining and wedding facilities. It is also licensed for civil ceremonies.
