DoubleTree by Hilton York is a full-service hotel and events venue located on St Maurices Road, overlooking York's historic City Wall and Monk Bar. We offer a central York location suitable for business meetings, conferences, weddings, private celebrations and residential events, with accommodation available on site. We currently have 143 guest rooms and dedicated meeting facilities comprising four event rooms. Our principal event space is the Monkbar Suite, a 223-square-metre room featuring integrated audiovisual equipment, floor-to-ceiling natural light and complimentary Wi-Fi. We can accommodate up to 180 people theatre-style, 160 for banquets and 200 for receptions. We can also divide the suite into four smaller rooms—Monkbar 1, Monkbar 2, Monkbar 3 and Monkbar 4—providing flexibility for smaller meetings and breakout sessions. We also provide smaller meeting facilities, boardroom-style arrangements and an outdoor Orangery, which offers another option for small gatherings and business meetings. Our event staff are available to assist with functions and event requirements. For social events, we provide wedding and banquet facilities, dining, outdoor areas and accommodation, making it possible to combine an event with an overnight stay.
The Monkbar Suite is the hotel's largest dedicated event space, covering 223 m². It has integrated audiovisual equipment, floor-to-ceiling natural light and free Wi-Fi. The room is suitable for conferences, wedding receptions, banquets, presentations and larger corporate gatherings. It accommodates up to 180 theatre-style, 160 banquet and 200 reception guests.
Monkbar 1 is one of four identically sized subdivisions of the Monkbar event facility. Each room measures 56 m² and provides flexible seating for smaller corporate meetings, training sessions, presentations and breakout activities. The room can accommodate up to 40 people theatre-style, with smaller conference, classroom and U-shaped arrangements available.
Monkbar 2 is another 56 m² room within the divisible Monkbar meeting facility. Its relatively compact footprint makes it appropriate for small meetings, workshops, interviews, training sessions and conference breakout activities. Its seating specifications are identical to Monkbar 1, allowing organisers to use multiple rooms simultaneously for larger programmes.
Monkbar 3 is a third identical 56 m² meeting room within the Monkbar facility. It provides the same range of layouts as Monkbar 1 and Monkbar 2 and can be used independently or alongside the other Monkbar rooms. This makes it particularly useful for workshops, breakout sessions, training and smaller corporate meetings.
Monkbar 4 completes the four-room Monkbar configuration. Like Monkbar 1, 2 and 3, it measures 56 m² and supports several seating layouts. Its identical specifications make it suitable for smaller meetings or as a breakout room during conferences taking place across the wider Monkbar facility.
The Orangery provides an alternative setting for smaller gatherings and business meetings. Hilton's official events page specifically identifies the outdoor Orangery as an option alongside the boardrooms. Its outdoor character makes it useful where organisers want a less conventional meeting environment, subject to weather and event requirements.
