Beamish, The Living Museum of the North

@3zbt33

Beamish, The Living Museum of the North is a large open-air museum and heritage event venue in County Durham, approximately 400 acres in size. Rather than operating like a conventional conference hotel, Beamish provides organisers with access to recreated historic environments, period buildings, heritage transport and immersive experiences. The museum brings the history of North East England to life through costumed interpreters, demonstrations, historic vehicles and recreated communities. For corporate events, Beamish currently promotes a range of distinctive locations, from a 1950s living room on Ravensworth Terrace for groups of up to six to the Bank Board Room overlooking the 1900s Town, which can accommodate up to 50 people. The museum can also provide the Museum Room as an ancillary lunch space. The venue's major advantage is the ability to combine a meeting or corporate gathering with bespoke heritage experiences. Groups can add a guided tour, Victorian school lesson, 1900s murder mystery, 1950s mini golf, fairground activities or transport experiences. Catering is provided by the museum's in-house team, including period-style service where appropriate. Beyond corporate hire, Beamish's 400-acre site hosts exhibitions, concerts, educational activities, seasonal celebrations and community events. It therefore works particularly well for team-building, corporate away days, heritage events, filming, cultural activities and highly distinctive experiential events.
