The Atkinson

Located on Southport’s Lord Street, The Atkinson combines a traditional theatre, flexible Studio, meeting facilities, galleries, museum and library within a refurbished 19th-century building. Our venue provides a distinctive setting for conferences, presentations, meetings, workshops, networking events, performances and exhibitions. The Theatre accommodates up to 405 people, including wheelchair and carer positions, while our Studio offers several configurations, including reserved raked seating for 280 or club-style arrangements for up to 228 people. For smaller activities, we provide meeting rooms accommodating between 10 and 30 people. The building also benefits from accessible facilities, lift access, technical and loading facilities, and a central location approximately three minutes’ walk from Southport railway station. Alongside event facilities, visitors can make use of our museum, art gallery, library, café and other cultural spaces.
