The Oakwood at Ryther

The Oakwood at Ryther is an exclusive-use wedding and events venue situated in the Vale of York countryside at Ryther, near Tadcaster in North Yorkshire. The property occupies a former family farm that has been transformed into a contemporary luxury venue while retaining its agricultural heritage, including original barns, exposed brickwork, timber features and landscaped courtyards. The venue is operated as a family business and offers couples exclusive use throughout their wedding stay. Our venue comprises the Ceremony Hall, Old Grain Store and Oakwood Barn, together with landscaped grounds and on-site accommodation. The Ceremony Hall, formerly a haybarn, features hand-crafted oak arches, reclaimed brickwork and York Stone flooring and can accommodate up to 140 guests. The Old Grain Store provides the main reception setting, combining original wooden beams and exposed brick with chandeliers, a bar, dance floor and mezzanine cocktail lounge; it can seat up to 140 guests. Accommodation is provided in the Oakwood Barn, which contains 15 en-suite bedrooms and sleeps up to 32 people. The venue also offers a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, bridal suite, landscaped grounds and flexible catering arrangements. Our venue is primarily designed for weddings, but its parent events business also identifies it as suitable for corporate away-days, team-building events and conferences.
