York Guildhall

@bgmc8g

York Guildhall is a historic Grade I-listed event venue in the heart of York, situated behind the Mansion House on the River Ouse. Dating from the fifteenth century, we combine medieval architectural features with modern conference and event infrastructure following a major restoration completed in 2022. We are operated by York Science Park, while York Conferences and Events coordinates conferences, weddings and other events. Our venue provides a particularly unusual combination of large-event, meeting and historic spaces within one city-centre building. Our principal event space is the Main Hall, a 356.3 m² room featuring oak pillars carved from individual trees, historic architectural details and an adjoining courtyard. It accommodates up to 200 people theatre-style or 120 for banquet and cabaret configurations. The Council Chamber provides 47 fixed seats and offers a highly distinctive setting for presentations, debates and formal meetings. Smaller rooms—including Committee Room One, Foss, Nidd, Wharfe and Ouse—provide boardroom-style accommodation for between 5 and 12 people. We also have the Riverside Garden and Courtyard for outdoor breakout, reception and networking activities. Our facilities include state-of-the-art AV, free Wi-Fi, on-site catering, accessibility facilities, air conditioning, PA equipment and corporate-event support. We are therefore particularly suited to conferences, weddings, corporate meetings, formal presentations, networking events and private functions where a historic city-centre setting is important.
