The National Centre for Early Music provides a distinctive setting for events in the heart of York, combining the character of a Grade I listed medieval church with modern facilities for conferences, celebrations and musical occasions. Our venue offers a flexible and intimate environment for conferences, meetings, award ceremonies, product launches, weddings, dinners, parties, concerts and other special events. We can accommodate larger conferences in theatre style while also providing smaller breakout spaces for focused meetings and group activities. Our excellent acoustics, stage lighting, projection facilities, blackout capability and audiovisual equipment make the building particularly well suited to performances, presentations and recording sessions. We also offer accessible facilities, Wi-Fi, catering support, artist facilities and a peaceful church garden. For weddings and celebrations, our exclusive-use option allows guests to enjoy the historic interior, contemporary foyer and private outdoor setting. Our experienced team supports each booking, helping organisers create an event that makes the most of our unique York setting and exceptional musical heritage.

Our first breakout room provides a compact setting for smaller meetings and group activities, accommodating up to ten boardroom-style or twenty theatre-style delegates within our modern facilities.
Our second breakout room offers flexible space for focused discussions, meetings and workshops, accommodating up to ten boardroom-style or twenty theatre-style delegates alongside larger events.
Our peaceful church garden provides an attractive outdoor setting alongside the historic building, offering a memorable backdrop for photographs, receptions and selected private celebrations at the NCEM.
