We are a small, intimate luxury hotel situated in the centre of the historic medieval town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, in the beautiful Eden Valley of Cumbria. Originally a 16th-century coaching inn, our Grade II listed building was rebuilt in Victorian times and retains its distinctive character, tall ceilings and elegant atmosphere. We provide a welcoming setting for weddings, functions, meetings, conferences and special occasions, combining comfortable surroundings with personal and flexible service. Our three dedicated function suites can accommodate up to 100 delegates, while additional syndicate rooms provide further flexibility for meetings and training. Our 22 bedrooms offer comfortable overnight accommodation, including three individual suites. Guests can also enjoy our Conservatory Restaurant, where fresh local produce is used to create classic dishes with a modern approach, alongside our extensive wine selection. With private parking, Wi-Fi, conference facilities, accommodation and catering available on site, we offer a convenient and personal venue for both business and social occasions in the heart of the Eden Valley.
We offer our Hothfield Suite as our principal function and conference space. Since opening in 1992, it has provided a comfortable setting for weddings, functions, meetings and conferences. We can accommodate up to 100 delegates, making it our largest dedicated event space.
We provide the Mews Suite as one of our dedicated meeting and function spaces, offering a more intimate environment than our principal Hothfield Suite. It is suitable for smaller meetings, training sessions, private functions and other gatherings where a more compact setting is appropriate.
Our Boardroom provides a private and focused setting for smaller business meetings, discussions and training sessions. We offer it as part of our dedicated conference facilities, making it particularly appropriate when a quieter and more intimate meeting environment is required.
Our additional syndicate rooms provide smaller breakout areas alongside the main meeting facilities. They are particularly useful for conferences and training sessions where delegates need separate spaces for smaller discussions or group activities.
