The Whitaker Museum & Art Gallery

At The Whitaker, we bring together history, contemporary art, food, nature and community in one distinctive setting within Whitaker Park. We are a museum and art gallery, but our spaces allow us to welcome much more than traditional museum visitors. We host weddings, civil ceremonies, conferences, private dinners, receptions, celebrations and cultural events, creating flexible experiences around the needs of each occasion. Our historic character sits alongside contemporary spaces, giving us a setting that can feel both distinctive and relaxed. We have light-filled galleries, elegant dining areas and landscaped gardens overlooking the Rossendale Valley, while our in-house kitchen allows us to provide bespoke menus using seasonal food and locally sourced drinks. Our events team works with organisers throughout the planning process and on the day itself. By holding an event with us, guests also contribute towards our museum exhibitions, education programmes and community projects across Rossendale.
