At The Curious Mr Fox, we offer a stylish and characterful restaurant, cocktail bar and events venue in the heart of Durham City Centre. Our historic setting provides beautiful views towards Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle, creating a memorable backdrop for celebrations, private dining and corporate occasions. We have three distinctive private spaces, each offering its own atmosphere and capacity, allowing us to accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to larger private events. Our team can support birthdays, engagement celebrations, baby showers, wedding receptions, graduations, corporate meetings, workshops and special occasions. We also provide private dining, bespoke menus, cocktail masterclasses and gin tasting experiences for groups. For corporate clients, we offer flexible room layouts, complimentary Wi-Fi and audio-visual equipment, together with on-site assistance. Our ground floor is fully accessible and includes a disabled toilet and baby-changing facilities. Our Foxes Club is an intimate private space with vintage-inspired décor, ideal for smaller gatherings, workshops, informal meetings and creative sessions. We accommodate up to 24 seated or 30 standing guests in this characterful setting.
Our Ivy Room is a light-filled private space with leafy décor and a relaxed atmosphere. We offer it for hen parties, baby showers, afternoon teas, private celebrations, meetings and other intimate gatherings, seating up to 32 guests.
Our Oyster Room is our most formal private space, overlooking the Riverwalk and Durham Cathedral. We provide an elegant setting for private dining, celebrations and corporate events, with a private bar and capacity for up to 39 seated or 60 standing guests.
