Deighton Lodge

Deighton Lodge is a rustic, exclusive-use barn venue situated on approximately three acres of farmland at Rush Farm in Deighton, just outside York. The venue combines a converted agricultural barn with landscaped gardens, ceremony spaces, a bridal parlour and an adjoining farmhouse providing on-site accommodation. The setting provides a countryside atmosphere while remaining close to York. The principal event space is the large pitched-roof barn, which retains original architectural features including timber beams and bare brick walls. The venue's distinctive chandeliers and rustic fittings give the space a characterful appearance while leaving it sufficiently flexible for couples and event organisers to style it according to their requirements. Deighton Lodge describes itself as a dry-hire, blank-canvas venue, meaning organisers have considerable freedom over the design and operation of their event. Catering vans are permitted, and the venue provides electricity close to the parking area for them. The barn has a published maximum capacity of 200 guests, while the gardens and pergola provide additional outdoor ceremony and reception possibilities. The venue is licensed for legally binding marriage and civil-partnership ceremonies; the current City of York approval covers the Main Barn, Garden, Living Room and Yoga Room through 30 October 2026. The adjoining farmhouse has eight bedrooms and can accommodate up to 26 people, allowing selected events to operate as an extended stay rather than a single-day function.
