Dean Court Hotel is a historic hotel located on Duncombe Place directly opposite York Minster in the centre of York. We combine traditional character with modern hotel, dining and meeting facilities, making us particularly attractive for smaller corporate events, private functions and social gatherings. Our central location places delegates and guests within easy walking distance of York's principal attractions, shops, restaurants and transport connections. We have two dedicated meeting rooms: the McLeod Suite and Ellen Best Room. Our McLeod Suite is the larger space, with a published maximum theatre/reception capacity of approximately 50 people and a banquet capacity of 40. The Ellen Best Room provides a smaller meeting space accommodating up to 12 people. Together, our two rooms provide approximately 85 square metres of dedicated meeting space. In addition to our meeting facilities, we provide hotel accommodation, restaurant and bar facilities. We promote our venue as a relaxed setting for business events and get-togethers, including networking events, forums, club talks and informal meetings. Our strongest distinguishing feature is our location and views of York Minster.
The Ellen Best Room is the hotel's smaller dedicated meeting space, measuring approximately 20 m². It can accommodate up to 12 people in theatre or banquet configurations. Its intimate size makes it appropriate for board meetings, small-group discussions, interviews, training sessions and informal business meetings.
The McLeod Suite is Dean Court Hotel's largest dedicated meeting and event space. It measures approximately 65 m² and can accommodate up to 50 people in theatre or reception layouts, with approximately 40 for a banquet. The room is suitable for conferences, presentations, meetings, private functions and smaller corporate events.
Dean Court's restaurant and dining areas provide additional informal space for food-led gatherings and celebrations. The current operator promotes the dining areas for business events and get-togethers, including networking events, forums, club talks and relaxed meetings.
The Court Cafe, Bar & Lounge delivers an informal, relaxed setting ideal for casual social events, birthday parties, networking mixers, or pre-dinner cocktail receptions. The venue blends modern boutique interiors with historic charm. It features fluid configurations with both indoor setups and access to seasonal outdoor seating.
