The Judge’s Lodging is a historic boutique hotel and private-event venue located at 9 Lendal in the heart of York. We occupy a Grade I listed Georgian townhouse originally constructed as a private residence in the early eighteenth century. In 1806, the building was acquired by York authorities to provide accommodation for judges attending the York Assize Courts, a role it continued to serve until 1976 before becoming a hotel. Today, we combine historic character with boutique accommodation, dining and event facilities. We have 21 individually styled bedrooms, a restaurant, Cellar Bar and outdoor terrace areas. Our historic interiors and location overlooking York Minster provide a distinctive backdrop for private celebrations and special occasions. We actively promote private dining and corporate events, while our Monkey Room, Grey Room, Terrace and Front Courtyard provide spaces suitable for intimate wedding ceremonies, receptions and celebrations. Our Monkey Room and Grey Room have historically accommodated approximately 24 guests each, while our outdoor terrace and courtyard configuration has been listed for approximately 60–100 guests.
