We are St Mary’s College, Durham University, a welcoming conference and events venue situated on Elvet Hill in Durham, within a short distance of the city centre and with attractive views towards Durham Cathedral. Our College combines elegant architecture, landscaped grounds and modern facilities, providing a flexible setting for conferences, meetings, academic events, residential groups, formal dinners and celebrations. We offer several event and meeting spaces, including our Dining Hall, Kenworthy Hall, Calvert Room, Donaldson Room and Holdsworth Room. Our Dining Hall can accommodate approximately 200–250 guests depending on the style of service, while our smaller rooms provide more intimate settings for meetings, workshops and private gatherings. We provide audiovisual facilities, Wi-Fi, projectors, screens, flipcharts, catering and on-site parking. Our College also offers accommodation, dining facilities, social spaces, a chapel, library, sports facilities and landscaped grounds. We provide a distinctive university setting for professional, academic, residential and social events in Durham.
We offer our Dining Hall as our principal large-scale dining and event space, accommodating approximately 200–250 guests depending on the style of service. It is suitable for formal dinners, banquets, celebrations and major College events.
We provide our Kenworthy Hall as a flexible event and meeting space, located beside the Dining Hall for convenient access to meals and refreshments. It is suitable for conferences, meetings, performances and social events.
We offer our Calvert Room as an intimate and stylish meeting or private-dining space, featuring an antique oval boardroom table and an executive atmosphere.
We provide our Donaldson Room for smaller meetings, workshops, interviews and private dining. It can also work as a breakout space alongside Kenworthy Hall.
We offer our Holdsworth Room as a flexible smaller meeting, workshop, interview and private-dining space. It is identical in size to our Donaldson Room and can also serve as a breakout area.
We have a secluded Chapel within the College, providing a distinctive setting for religious, cultural and selected College events.
