The Post Mill Centre

The Carnfield Suite is the largest purpose-built function room in the area and the most flexible, with extended access to both the Rangewood and Sporton rooms making a total floor area of some 450 square metres of available floor space. Conferences, large special occasion events, shows and concerts, fairs, exhibitions, presentations, dances, large meetings and community events of up to 300 guests or delegates.

The Birchwood has direct access to the Fullwood Lounge and dining area (which can be used for buffets, etc.) The room is approximately 140 square metres in size. The Birchwood Room is suitable for wedding receptions, parties, special occasions, conferences, business meetings small or large, concerts, live shows and community events for up to 120 guests.

The Rangewood has direct access to the Carnfield Suite, the patio, sun terrace areas and bar. It’s light and airy and very popular for meetings and training events of all types. The Rangewood Room is suitable for business meetings and training events, wedding receptions, parties, special occasions and community events.

The Sporton Room is the smallest function room being just 54 square metres in size and it’s ideal for small and medium meetings and training events and small parties or community events. The Sporton is often used in conjunction with the Carnfield Suite and can be used for overspill or setting out catering or buffets. It is also linked directly with the kitchen via a serving hatch.

The Fullwood Lounge is situated in heart of the centre and includes a spacious open plan lounge with comfortable seating and low level tables. The lounge includes a licensed bar which serves a full range of quality beers, wines, gins and spirits. The bar can also be accessed from the Birchwood Room when used for wedding and party type events. The Rangewood Room can also be opened up into the lounge making the space in larger or to provide room for catering services. The large patio area can be accessed directly from Fullwood Lounge, The Rangewood Room and The Carnfield Suite.

The Post Mill Pantry is run by an on-site team and serves a great selection of teas and coffees as well as breakfasts and light bites. For lunch, there's sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, baked potatoes and a selection of hot meals all made ready to order. The Pantry underwent a refurb in 2020 with a new decor, furniture and signage. There's the modern, light and airy café to the right of the main entrance; it’s open from 8.30am to 02.00pm Monday to Friday to our centre guests and the public.

The Town Park was constructed in conjunction with the extension to the Post Mill Centre. It was officially opened by Councillor Terry Cook on 28th May 2008. The park featured a jumbo lander and adventure trail, swings, see-saws, sandpit and a mini lander for younger children. In 2018 the park was fully refurbished complete with new play equipment and landscaping. The Park was officially reopened in special event on 24th June 2018 by Steve Watson (Headteacher Glebe Junior School). The park is owned and maintained by South Normanton Parish Council and is open to the public seven days a week. It’s an ideal place to entertain your children after school in the week or for all the family to enjoy at the weekends.
