Lumley Castle is a historic castle hotel overlooking the River Wear and Durham County Cricket Ground. The castle combines its medieval character with modern hospitality and business facilities, making it a distinctive venue for conferences, meetings, weddings, celebrations and private dining. For corporate events, the castle currently advertises five principal meeting spaces: the Garter Suite, Barons Hall, Scarbrough Suite, Cuthbert and Waterford. The Garter Suite is the largest dedicated meeting room, accommodating up to 150 theatre-style, while Barons Hall can accommodate up to 120 and Scarbrough up to 60. The castle also has several wedding/private-event spaces. The Garter Suite accommodates up to 132 for a ceremony/wedding breakfast and 180 for an evening reception. Barons Hall accommodates up to 110 for the wedding breakfast and 150 for the evening reception. Smaller spaces include The Gilt and The Sceptre for intimate celebrations and private dining. The hotel provides complimentary on-site parking, high-speed Wi-Fi and AV equipment, including projectors, screens and speakers. Overnight accommodation is available for residential conferences.

The Scarbrough Suite

The Waterford
