The venue occupies two floors and combines restaurant dining, cocktails, live entertainment and private-event facilities within a botanical-themed setting. Its location on Stonegate places it within York's historic city centre and makes it suitable for social gatherings and celebrations. The venue provides a range of spaces, including its main bar, restaurant and dedicated private dining room known as The Corriander Room. The private room is designed for intimate events, group dining, business lunches, drinks and special occasions. Outdoor seating provides an additional area for guests, particularly during warmer periods. The Botanist York also has a strong entertainment offering. Homegrown musicians perform regularly, with live music scheduled every Friday and Saturday evening. Other activities include Musical Bingo and seasonal events. The venue currently promotes Christmas bookings for work parties, family celebrations and festive gatherings.
The Coriander Room offers a cozy, elegant atmosphere blending historic architecture with natural elements. Featuring an antique fireplace and classic wooden long-table seating, this space is ideal for private sit-down dinners, structured boardroom presentations, or family celebrations requiring a warm and secluded setting.
The Tool Shed is a quirky, heavily themed space upstairs styled like a rustic, vintage garden workspace. It features low ceilings, brick archways, and atmospheric lighting, making it a popular backdrop for intimate drink receptions, casual networking, and hands-on cocktail or mocktail masterclasses.
The Conservatory is a bright, visually stunning event space adorned with an elaborate overhead wooden pergola and trailing greenery. Twinkling fairy lights create a magical setting that is highly sought-after for romantic wedding receptions, anniversary parties, and lively standing drinks mixers.
