Shelley Village Hall

@oiapwx

Shelley Village Hall is a community-run venue on Huddersfield Road in Shelley, West Yorkshire. The building was originally an old Church of England school and was acquired in 1976 before being converted into the village hall. It was officially opened as a village hall on 7 May 1979 and has subsequently undergone continued improvement. The hall is managed by the Shelley Community Association and remains an important community hub. It hosts a wide variety of regular groups and activities, including art, bridge, dance, children's groups, social clubs, amateur dramatics and community events. It is also available for private hire. The main facility is a 17m × 9m Main Hall, supported by the smaller Mercer Room and Old Committee Room. The Mercer Room is suitable for around 20 people and can be used for small meetings, lectures and workshops, while the Old Committee Room is intended for informal sessions and very small groups. The premises provide a bar, well-equipped kitchen, disabled facilities, wheelchair access, disabled parking and a hearing loop. The hall is therefore suitable for community events, parties, workshops, exhibitions and social activities.
