The Ashes Barns is our private, family-run wedding venue set within a beautiful 50-acre estate at the foothills of the Peak District National Park. We combine historic Grade II-listed stone barns with a country house, landscaped gardens, lawns, a lake, pond, orchard, fields and surrounding countryside. Our exclusive-use approach allows couples and their guests to enjoy the venue privately throughout their wedding celebration. We provide dedicated spaces for the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening entertainment, allowing the day to flow naturally between the different areas of the estate. Our West Barn provides the principal ceremony setting, while our East Barn is designed for the wedding breakfast and evening celebration. We also offer outdoor ceremony possibilities, on-site accommodation, a dedicated dressing room, catering and an event management team. Our countryside setting provides numerous opportunities for photographs, drinks receptions and relaxed outdoor moments throughout the day.
We use our West Barn as the principal ceremony barn. This historic stone barn has exposed oak beams, a stone floor, original architectural features and a Juliet balcony that can accommodate musicians. It is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150 guests.
Our East Barn provides the main wedding breakfast and evening reception setting. We combine exposed oak beams, natural stone, polished oak flooring, a bar and dancefloor to create one continuous celebration space.
Our flagstone courtyard sits between the principal stone barns and provides an outdoor transition area where guests can gather for drinks and socialising between the ceremony and wedding breakfast.
