We are Van Mildert College, Durham University, a distinctive conference and events venue set around a beautiful lake in peaceful landscaped grounds. Founded in 1965, we are one of Durham University’s largest colleges and are located within a short walk of Durham’s historic city centre and world-famous Cathedral. We provide a flexible range of meeting, dining and social spaces, including our Ustinov Room, Lakeside Room, Combination Room, Library, Junior Common Room and Main Hall. Our facilities are suitable for conferences, meetings, seminars, training sessions, workshops, formal dinners, private dining, weddings, parties and residential events. We provide audiovisual equipment, Wi-Fi, projectors, screens, PA facilities, catering, refreshments and a fully stocked bar. During University vacations, we can also provide accommodation for residential conferences and group bookings. Main Hall

We offer our Main Hall and Dining Hall as our largest event space, accommodating up to 350 guests for banquets or receptions. It is suitable for formal dinners, celebrations, entertainment and major events.

Ustinov Room

We provide our Ustinov Room as our principal conference and function room. Our configurations include up to 120 theatre style, 60 classroom, 54 boardroom and 50 cabaret, making it suitable for conferences and presentations.

Junior Common Room
