Holmfirth Picturedrome

Holmfirth Picturedrome is a historic entertainment venue in the centre of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Originally opened in 1913 as the Holme Valley Theatre, the building was designed as a cinema and originally had approximately 1,040 seats. After later operating as a bingo hall, the building returned to cinema and live-performance use and has developed into one of the region's best-known intimate live-music venues. The venue retains significant historic character while functioning primarily as a modern entertainment and performance space. Its main auditorium has a built-in stage, substantial dance floor, professional sound system and stage lighting. Unlike a conventional seated theatre, the Picturedrome generally operates on a standing/general-admission basis, with approximately 100 unfixed seats available for visitors who require or prefer seating. The current venue guide gives an overall capacity of approximately 650. The building contains two bars within the main venue, positioned on different floors, together with the separate Box Office Bar at the rear. The Box Office provides an additional social space before and after performances and also hosts occasional live music.
