The newest major addition is the Chestnut Room, a 4,750-square-foot facility with a rooftop terrace, accommodating up to 240 seated guests or approximately 350 in theatre style. Other facilities include the Hambleton Suite, James Herriot Hall, Pavilion rooms, Stirrup Room, Upper Pavilion Suite and private boxes. Extensive lawns and grounds are also available for outdoor events, marquees, festivals, exhibitions, sporting activities and large public events. Thirsk Racecourse caters for conferences, meetings, training courses, exhibitions, weddings, awards ceremonies, charity events, Christmas parties, private celebrations, banquets, wakes, concerts, festivals and outdoor events. The Chestnut Room is Thirsk Racecourse's newest major event space, offering 4,750 square feet of indoor space and an equally sized rooftop terrace. It has panoramic racecourse views and is suitable for conferences, weddings, receptions, dinners and large corporate events, accommodating approximately 350 theatre style or 240 seated guests.
The Hambleton Suite is an elegant event space featuring arched mirrors, vintage décor, a dedicated dance floor and an adjoining reception room. It accommodates up to 200 guests, with 120 fully seated. The suite is particularly suitable for weddings, birthday celebrations, Christmas parties, charity balls and reception-style events.
James Herriot Hall is a large modern hall-style venue designed for substantial events. It is particularly suitable for conferences, exhibitions, awards ceremonies and large private parties and can comfortably seat approximately 220 guests. Its scale makes it an important option for organisers requiring a larger indoor event environment.
The Pavilion contains two large function rooms, each accommodating up to 100 guests or 70 fully seated. The flexible arrangement is particularly useful for conferences, exhibitions and smaller parties where separate rooms may be needed for different activities, catering or breakout sessions. The spaces can therefore support multi-stage events.
The Stirrup Room is an intimate modern event space located close to Thirsk Racecourse's beautifully landscaped Paddock. With capacity for up to 50 people, it is particularly suited to smaller conferences, private parties, christenings and birthday celebrations. Its compact scale makes it suitable for more personal events.
The Upper Pavilion Suite is a first-floor event and meeting room overlooking the racecourse. Its bright, spacious environment can accommodate up to 110 guests and makes it suitable for conferences, meetings, presentations and breakout sessions. Thirsk Racecourse's private hospitality boxes provide intimate, premium spaces overlooking the Winning Post and the wider racecourse. They are suitable for private dining, corporate hospitality and entertaining clients or colleagues. Individual boxes can accommodate between 8 and 50 guests, with catering and bar packages available.
The extensive outdoor grounds provide flexible space for events that require more room than the indoor suites can offer. Available areas include lawns and enclosed/open spaces suitable for marquees, festivals, exhibitions, concerts, sporting activities, outdoor cinemas and community events.
