Arts Centre Washington is a distinctive multi-purpose arts and community venue in Fatfield, Washington, Tyne and Wear. The centre is housed within a converted approximately 100-year-old farm, combining original agricultural architecture with modern cultural and event facilities. Its thick stone walls, original timber features, courtyard setting and theatrical spaces give it a character quite different from conventional conference or hotel venues. The centre operates as both a cultural destination and a venue-for-hire. Its programme includes theatre, live music, comedy, film screenings, exhibitions, craft events and creative workshops, while more than 40 community groups also use the centre regularly. For private and corporate hire, the venue provides several flexible spaces. The Theatre is the largest dedicated indoor performance space, accommodating up to 120 people in tiered theatre seating or 80 in cabaret configuration. The Low Barn accommodates up to 120 and is suitable for larger conferences, parties and live performances. The Granary provides a smaller 50-person conference and meeting environment. Additional facilities include an Art Workshop, Community Room and Studio 1 Rehearsal Room, making the centre particularly suitable for workshops, rehearsals, creative activities, small meetings and community events. The venue also provides catering through its Courtyard Café/Bar, technical support and free parking.
