We are a four-star country house hotel set in the beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria, surrounded by the mountains and fells of the Lake District, North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales. Our Victorian country house, originally built in 1871, combines traditional character with comfortable modern facilities and beautiful views across the surrounding countryside. We offer 31 en-suite bedrooms, a fine-dining restaurant, our 1871 Bistro, a welcoming lounge and bar, extensive gardens and our luxurious Garden Spa. For business events, we provide two dedicated meeting rooms, the Oak Room and Bistro 1871, with natural daylight, Wi-Fi, presentation equipment and flexible seating arrangements. Our facilities make us well suited to conferences, small meetings, residential conferences and team-building events. Guests can also enjoy our spa facilities, dining experiences and peaceful countryside surroundings. With on-site accommodation, catering, meeting equipment, parking and event facilities, we provide a comfortable setting for both business gatherings and special occasions.
We offer our Oak Room as a dedicated meeting and private dining space on the ground floor, overlooking the valley. With natural daylight, Wi-Fi, power sockets and presentation facilities, we can accommodate up to 35 delegates theatre-style. The room is also suitable for smaller meetings and private gatherings.
We provide Bistro 1871 as our second dedicated meeting space, positioned beside the lounge, which can also be used as a breakout area. We can accommodate up to 50 delegates theatre-style, with smaller boardroom, schoolroom and U-shaped layouts available. The space also benefits from natural daylight and Wi-Fi.
