The Parsonage Hotel & Spa, formerly commonly known as The Parsonage Country House Hotel, is a historic country-house hotel in the village of Escrick, approximately six miles from York city centre. The property dates from the early nineteenth century and retains many of its historic architectural features. Historic England lists the building as a Grade II listed building, recognising its architectural and historic interest. Our hotel is set within approximately six acres of formal gardens and woodland, giving it a distinctly rural setting while remaining accessible to York. The property currently has 62 bedrooms, two restaurants, a conservatory, lounges, a spa and dedicated meeting and event facilities. For conferences, Our venue provides four principal rooms: Crystal, Castania, Albiza and Wenlock. The Crystal Suite is the largest, accommodating up to 150 people theatre-style and 150 for dinner according to the hotel's current conference capacity table. It can also accommodate 100 in cabaret and 80 in classroom, U-shape or boardroom configurations. Our venue is equally well suited to weddings and private celebrations. Its Crystal Suite overlooks the gardens, while Castania is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 110 guests. The hotel also offers private dining for smaller groups.
The Crystal Suite is the Parsonage's largest event space. It accommodates up to 150 theatre, 100 cabaret, 80 classroom, 80 U-shape and 80 boardroom, with capacity for 120 dinner dance and 150 dinner. The room overlooks the gardens and has its own private bar, making it particularly suitable for weddings and larger celebrations.
Castania is located in the lodge overlooking the gardens and provides a flexible setting for conferences, meetings, private dining and family celebrations. Its published capacities are 60 theatre, 40 cabaret, 30 classroom, 30 U-shape, 30 boardroom and 50 dinner. It is also licensed for civil wedding ceremonies for up to 110 guests.
The Wenlock Room is a traditional smaller room in the original Old House. It accommodates up to 30 theatre, 15 cabaret, 12 classroom, 12 U-shape, 16 boardroom and 24 dinner. The hotel also promotes the room for private dining and smaller celebrations, with private dinners available for groups from 8 to 40 people.
Albiza is a smaller meeting room suited to intimate meetings, workshops and breakout activities. The current conference table gives capacities of 30 theatre, 16 cabaret, 18 classroom, 10 U-shape and 12 boardroom. Its smaller scale makes it particularly useful for training groups, interviews, discussions and breakout sessions.
Lascelles is a private dining setting within the main hotel and can accommodate up to 40 people for a private dinner. It is particularly appropriate for birthdays, anniversaries, family celebrations and other intimate occasions.
The conservatory provides an attractive supporting event space overlooking the hotel's gardens. It is particularly relevant to weddings, where it is used for drinks receptions. Its glazed design provides a connection between the interior event areas and the hotel's landscaped grounds.
