At Merryoaks Community Hall, we provide a welcoming community venue for residents of Neville’s Cross, Merryoaks and the surrounding Durham area. We are a modern community facility on Park House Road, conveniently located just off the A167 and served by local bus routes. Our building was created as a community hub and provides flexible spaces for meetings, classes, parties, social activities and community events. We offer a spacious Main Hall alongside a smaller Multipurpose Room, giving our users options for both larger gatherings and more intimate activities. Our central Hub includes a community library and self-service tea and coffee facilities, creating a relaxed place for people to meet and connect. We also have a kitchen, office, toilets, Wi-Fi, interactive screens and parking facilities. We welcome a wide variety of community groups and activities, from exercise and yoga classes to talks, workshops, social gatherings and celebrations. Our aim is to provide an accessible and friendly place where our community can meet, learn, socialise and enjoy shared activities.
Our Main Hall is our largest bookable space, accommodating up to 80 people. We use it for community events, parties, classes, meetings, performances, talks and larger group activities, with an 86-inch interactive screen available for presentations and activities.
Our Multipurpose Room is a flexible smaller space for meetings, classes, workshops and community activities. We accommodate up to 20 people standing or 15 seated, and provide a 65-inch interactive screen to support presentations and group activities.
Our central Hub provides a relaxed community space with a library and self-service refreshments. We accommodate up to 45 people standing or 25 seated, making it useful for informal gatherings, community activities and social interaction.
Our kitchen is available as a bookable supporting space for up to five people. We provide it for catering preparation and refreshments connected with activities and events taking place within our community hall.
